Our business began in 1995 as Bambry Clark Electrical in Hastings. We started out with two sparkies, both new to self-employment, learning the best systems and processes on the hop. Essentially we were two guys in a rundown shed on a back section.
From these early days, we were committed to growing the business to take on larger projects. It was our dream to build a company with high creditability and profile to deliver trusted robust and smart electrical solutions. After buying our partner out, we challenged ourselves to drive the business forward and did it increasing revenue 12 per cent alone in the first year and staffing by over a third.
This systematic approach saw the business grow from strength to strength, with a secure financial structure, organised systems and clear marketing strategy. In 2006, to maximise our emerging strength in the market, we rebranded as Kinetic. We are focused on keeping it simply smart to deliver innovative dependable cost effective results with a ‘can do’ attitude.
This confidence has an almost magnetic approach of attracting more new business, pushing revenue continually up. To keep pace with the demand for our services, we continue to recruit new staff. Our high profile vans are seen all over Hawke’s Bay and the smart presentation of our staff is envied by our competitors. At the beginning of 2008 we started with a team of 17 that grew to 24 by year end. Revenue for 2009 is forecast to increase by over 35 per cent.
We know success comes with staying focused and by establishing sound processes. Suppliers quite regularly comment that Kinetic has come out of nowhere to become a leading player in the market.
We are driven to take the Kinetic vision to the next level, nationwide. The profitability we have achieved at Hastings Kinetic Electrical is perfectly achievable anywhere in New Zealand. We invite you to learn more about working simply smarter.
Darren started as an apprentice with the Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board when he was 16 and developed his skills both locally and in the mines of Western Australia. He established his own business in 1995. On buying out his partner 10 years later, Darren set about developing management, marketing and operational systems to grow the business.
It was at this point, that Vicki joined Darren in the day to day running of the operation, undertaking much of the administrative and marketing functions.
In his drive to grow the business, Darren undertook various courses in business and marketing including the intensive Ice House course run by Auckland University’s business school.
This helped Darren and Vicki further refine the business structure and systems, with ever increasing profitability and success in the marketplace.
Realising that what they had developed was working brilliantly, Darren and Vicki recognised that other electrical companies could also benefit from their systems. They then worked with a franchise coach to fine tune the systems, process and procedures to help other electrical contracting business owners, or those starting out in business, to benefit from a Kinetic Electrical franchise.
In 2009, Kinetic Electrical started building the systems and documentation needed to support a franchise model. In late 2009 this work was completed.
In March 2010 we appointed Ken Parsons as Sales Manager for the franchise business. Ken is responsible for recruitment of franchise businesses nationally.
His background is in business systems and business management, ideal skills to help new franchisees to really understand the business opportunity, to see where and how to grow their business, and to maximise their return when it comes time to sell.
Our franchisees will benefit from Ken’s experience in growing his own Software Services Company and then successfully exiting that company with maximum return.
